The Scubapro MK25 (non-EVO) paired with the S500 is a high-performance, classic balanced piston regulator system known for effortless breathing and durability. While the later MK25 EVO added cold-water insulating features (XTIS), the original MK25 still offers extremely fast breathing response, a swivel turret for hose routing, and is suitable for most diving conditions.
Key Features of the MK25/S500 System:

• MK25 First Stage (Non-EVO): A top-tier, balanced piston design providing consistent air pressure at any depth. Note that it lacks the blue "Extended Thermal Insulating System" (XTIS) coating found on the EVO version, making it less specialized for extreme cold water than newer models.
• S500 Second Stage: Known for being a robust, high-performance, balanced valve second stage that provides smooth inhalation effort. It is the precursor to the popular S600 series, offering similar durability.
• Performance: Excellent air delivery in moderate to warm water temperatures.
• Hose Routing: The swivel turret allows for optimal placement of primary, backup, and BC hoses, improving comfort.
